If you ask anybody who knows me, they’ll describe me as a fixer, a maker, a do-it-yourselfer, and always trying to solve a problem. It’s the way I’m wired. And, given the opportunity, I’d prefer to make my own things rather than buy them. It allows me to tweak it to suit my specific needs. I laughed and shook my head when I read a meme that a friend posted recently reading something along the lines of, “why buy something for $50 when you can spend $100 on supplies to make it yourself?” I have an answer. For me, it’s not always about the good deal or the free, 2-day shipping. It’s about the pride I find in making my own products. It’s about the inherent quality I can instill in the end result. It’s about knowing that it will fit my very specific needs. The subtle imperfections remind me that it wasn’t cranked out by a machine. And yes it’s a little bit about the journey getting to the perfect product.

After hearing for years, “Hey, you should sell that or open an Etsy Store!” Well, here I am. I’m trying to put this passion to good use and to help others share that same pride in a quality product that was made to fit their unique needs.
